How to Drape a Table with Fabric in 9 Easy Steps

1. Measure the front of the table from floor to table top with a tape measure. Take this measurement times two.


2. Measure the front of the table from the top left front to the top right front allowing a sag in the tape measure that drops as low as you will want your fabric drape to drop. Add this measurement to the measurement above.


3. Cut your fabric making one piece of fabric the length of the combined measurements in number two.


4. Unfold your fabric so it is completely opened and flat – the entire length and width.


5. Measure the fabric to be length from the floor to the table top. At that measurement, begin to fold the fabric from one edge into one inch folds back and forth until all the width of the fabric is folded in one inch folds accordion style.


6. Pin the back of those folds together with a very large safety pin.


7. Pin that safety pin to the corner of the table cloth. Wait to adjust any of the folds until the other side is secure.


8. Follow number 5-7, only this time from the opposite end of the fabric and table.


9. At this point, your fabric drape should be secure on the table and you should only need to fuss with or adjust the folds to achieve the elegant draped look you are seeking.
